EMPTY DOM REMOVE PROTECTOR

This is what it sounds like when musicians define the sound.

Most headphones are tuned in labs. The ellipse was shaped by musicians.
For over a decade, we have built instruments for working musicians, and that relationship goes both ways. When it came to designing the ellipse, we brought those same musicians into the process as collaborators. We asked them what a headphone should feel like to work with: what makes a sound huge, alive, worth coming back to. What makes you want to keep creating, and what makes you want to sit and just listen. That input defined everything about how the ellipse sounds.

The result is a headphone that doesn't colour your music. It reveals it.

Premium sound. Danish design. Built to last.

THE SOUND INSIDE.

Feel the beat.

A big sound requires a big driver. Most headphones use drivers between 30 and 40mm. The ellipse™ uses 50mm. A larger driver moves more air, and more air movement is what gives bass its real weight and presence. The kick drum hits. The soundstage opens up. Music stops feeling like it is coming from inside your head and starts feeling like it is happening around you.

More than you can hear.

The ellipse™ goes from 12Hz to 40,000Hz — well beyond what the human ear can detect. You may not hear those extra frequencies, but research shows they affect how music feels. The deep sub-bass registers as physical sensation. The high frequencies above the audible range influence brain activity in ways that make music feel more alive and immersive. The result is not just something you hear. It is something you feel.

Closed-back, passive isolation.

The earcups sit around your ears and block out the world. No noise cancellation, no battery, no processing. Just thick and soft velour, closed earcups, and the music in front of you. It is a small thing that makes a big difference to how connected you feel to what you are hearing.

It's PLug and play

A wired connection means no compression, no latency, no pairing. The ellipse™ connects to your phone, your laptop, your audio interface, your hi-fi. You plug in and it works.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY.

From the people who own one.

Tobias B.

The sound is crystal clear with an amazing balance that makes every detail stand out. On top of that, the design is sleek and comfortable, making them a real pleasure to wear. Truly top-notch headphones — Baum did an outstanding job!

Renay N.

Aesthetics and quality are the first words that come to mind when I put on these headphones.
I have never experienced a sound like it. It’s all about the right balance, and with the Ellipse headphones, it has truly been nailed spot on.

The comfort is just the icing on the cake. The only feeling I can compare it to is the sensation of buying a brand-new, very expensive car. A luxurious experience!

Marc B.

Every pair of closed-back headphones I’ve tried before has sounded either unnatural, pushing the music right into your ears, or somewhat harsh.. But not the Baum Ellipse. These are different. They just sound right.

Bob R.

A new benchmark at $499, the best bass I've ever heard from any headphone. Tight, deep, no boom. And the isolation was astonishing, I was listening in bed with my wife right next to me reading, she could not hear it at all and I was playing them loud. That's a cool feature.

Ferencz S.

The best sounding headphones I ever had! The design is also beautiful! Congratulations to the designers! Thank you Baum!

Bernd S.

Now I can hear details I have never heard before.
Amazing.
This is going to be my favorite.

Chris V.

They’re super comfortable and most importantly they sound excellent. Perfect for late night jams without annoying the neighbours.

Jan M.

Surprisingly comfortable and incredibly good sound!

Thoughtful details make the difference.

Built like an instrument.

Brass is heavy, dense, and gets better with age. That is why it is used in the hardware on our guitars, and why every joint and metal detail on the ellipse™ is brass. It does not flex, it does not corrode, and it does not feel cheap in your hands. Materials that are built to last change how a product feels to own.

Comfortable to use. Easy to replace.

The ear pads are the first thing to wear out on any headphone. On the ellipse™, you replace them yourself. New pads, same headphone. That is a different kind of purchase.

Share what you hear.

The ellipse™ connects on either side. Plug a second pair directly into the first and two people hear the same thing, from the same source. No adapters or splitters needed.

Details you'll feel.

Faux leather on the headband. Velour on the ear pads. Aluminum on the frame. Brass joints. Each material was chosen for how it feels after hours of use and how long it holds up. The textures come from the same world as guitar amplifiers and vintage cases. If you have ever held a well-made instrument, you will recognise the feeling.

WE BUILT THIS FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

Baum started as a guitar brand. We have spent over a decade building instruments for working musicians and learning, through that relationship, what sound means to the people who make it. When we decided to make a headphone, we started from there.

We asked the musicians what they want to hear, and what made a sound feel worth listening to.

ellipse is the result of those conversations.

DESIGNED FOR MUSIC. BUILT TO LAST.

Made for music lovers. Those who create it, and those who live inside it.

On paper first.

Morten has always drawn - from book illustrations to our instruments. The ellipse™ started the same way. Rough lines first, then more considered ones. Some stayed from the very first sketch. Others took a long time to get right.

Every part, modelled.

Once the drawing feels right, Morten takes it into 3D himself. Every joint, every curve, built piece by piece. A 3D file leads to a prototype. The prototype leads to changes. New files, new prototype. This went on until the ellipse™ became what it is today.

Defined by musicians.

We put it in the hands of musicians and let them use it properly. In sessions, in studios, in real work. What they heard, what felt off, how the materials held up. Some things we thought were right turned out not to be. The ellipse™ you can buy today came out of those conversations.

"Ellipse feels like a sensible first headphone from a brand with real musician DNA."

Magnetic Mag

"The result is a headphone that delivers an immersive and balanced listening experience while embodying the understated elegance of contemporary Danish design."

The Ear

The ellipse™ is designed to be part of your life.

We live in a world of background music. Always on, never really heard. The ellipse™ was made for something different. For the moments when you sit down, press play, and actually listen.

Nothing irrelevant.
